The Boston Globe reports ESPN has suspended NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski following his NSFW email sent Friday to Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.). According to the Globe, the terms of the suspension are not yet known.
The war of words started when Hawley (R-Mo.) trolled the NBA for supporting the Black Lives Matter movement as the league relaxes its rules on jerseys to give players an avenue for social protest.
In making his point, Hawley referenced Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey supporting anti-government protests in Hong Kong with an image that read, Fight For Freedom. Stand With Hong Kong.
Moreys tweet in October came as the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets went to China for exhibition games. China is a big partner with the NBA, and started pulling its support for the league following Moreys tweet.
According to Hawleys twitter feed, Wojnarowski responded to the senators message objecting to the leagues jersey policy with a short email which got right to the point: F**k you.
Upon reflection (and backlash), Wojnarowski later tweeted an apology:
I was disrespectful and I made a regrettable mistake. Im sorry for the way I handled myself and I am reaching out immediately to Senator Hawley to apologize directly. I also need to apologize to my ESPN colleagues because I know my actions were unacceptable and should not reflect on any of them.
As for the NBA, the league approved several social justice messages which can replace players names on jerseys when the league resumes play following the coronavirus pandemic on July 30 in Orlando.
Per ESPNs Marc Spears, the list includes: Black Lives Matter; Say Their Names; Vote; I Cant Breathe; Justice; Peace; Equality; Freedom; Enough; Power to the People; Justice Now; Say Her Name; Sí Se Puede (Yes We Can); Liberation; See Us; Hear Us; Respect Us; Love Us; Listen; Listen to Us; Stand Up; Ally; Anti-Racist; I Am A Man; Speak Up; How Many More; Group Economics; Education Reform; and Mentor.

Steph Curry indisputably accelerated a revolution during his first MVP campaign and title run with the Golden State Warriors in 2014-15. Since that season, defenses have adapted, lineups have shifted and coaches have given the green light to more and more 3-point shots. Because of this, its hard to compare Curry to any players that have come along since.
But that doesnt mean direct imitators wont materialize in his wake. In fact, theres evidence that Jamal Murray — whose 40-point Game 7 capped …
