Yes, we talked about Tiger King. Yes, we got hyped for The Mandalorian. And sure, we argued about how much pop culture should talk about Covid-19 (if at all). But there was a howling void in the increasingly empty hallways of the worlds pop culture discussions throughout 2020: The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) sat the year out.
In 2019 alone, we got to argue about Captain Marvels feminism, Avengers: Endgames approach to grief, and Spider-mans co-option by big tech. (And that was just on Vox.com!)…
